A Wondrous Journey is an acoustic-style Christmas album that highlights the “wondrous journey” that Almighty God made when he left his heavenly home and came here to become the Savior of the world. The album brings a refreshing spirit to some old Christmas favorites and also introduces the listener to some new, well-crafted Christmas music written by Stephen. It features the beautiful vocal stylings of his daughter, Marissa Renee, as well as some of the best session players out of Nashville such as, Scott Dente (guitar, mandolin, banjo), Matt Pierson (upright bass), Ken Lewis (percussions), Wanda Vick (fiddle), and Blair Masters (piano). As with Stephen’s other albums, A Wondrous Journey was produced in Nashville, TN by Creative Soul Records, with Eric Copeland working as co-producer along side of Stephen.
