My Latest Goings On

It’s been awhile since I posted, and I thought it was time to let everyone know what has been going on.

This past year has brought many challenges which have caused me to put my music mission on hold for a while.

My oldest daughter, Hannah (14 Yrs), was recently diagnosed with Crohn’s Disease. For those that are unfamiliar with Crohn’s, it’s a life-long autoimmune disease that attacks the digestive system, causing all kinds of problems, including debilitating pain and bleeding.

Since this all began in the middle of last year, she has been in the hospital twice, lost 20 pounds, and has become anemic due to the bleeding. As you can imagine her life, as well as the whole family’s, has been much different since this all began. It’s been very difficult for all, but we are all, especially Hannah, trying to make the best of this, and rejoice in the many blessings we do have.

Despite the fact that there is no cure for Crohn’s, there are several treatments available that can control the symptoms and allow her to lead a relatively normal life. Right now, the doctors are trying to figure out which treatment is best suited for her. Her current treatment originally showed promise, but she started to flare up again, so we may have to try something else until we find something that works long term.

As far as my music…until Hannah’s condition is stable and she is responding well to her treatment, the music mission is on hold except for some local events that don’t require any travel.

As with everything in life, this is all in the Lord’s hands. Despite the trials of this life, Hannah and the rest of us continue to cling to God’s promises and assurance that one day we will all have bodies without disease, pain, or decay.

Please keep Hannah and our family in your prayers, as we weather this storm.

Be Blessed,
Stephen

PS. One good thing has come of this…I’ve had lots of inspiration for song writing and have written quite a few over past several months. I’ll try a share them with you from time to time.

  1. Hi Steve I’m sorry to hear about your daughter and her illness. I am very famillar with the disease, a close friend that I know has this as well. He was diagnosed with this in his twenties and still to this day suffers through this disease as he is 51 years now. He has a twin brother who suffers through the same thing. I will keep you in my prayers. God Bless Cheryl
